Does anyone regret registering as a nonprofit rather than a business?
We are deciding now and the advice we are getting splits cleanly down the middle.

It depends entirely on where your money will come from in year three. Nonprofit opens grants and closes investment. Business does the reverse. Decide the funding first, then the structure follows.
And check what is easy to change later in your country. In some it is straightforward, in others you effectively start again.
