The mini-grid has been running for a year. Here are the real numbers.

Eighty-four connections. Uptime 91 percent, which is worse than we promised and better than the diesel it replaced. Average household spend went down by about a third. The thing I did not expect: the biggest change was shops staying open after dark, not lighting in homes. We designed for homes.

The shops finding is consistent with what we saw on a water project. The economic use is always bigger than the domestic one and it is never what gets funded.

Would you share the uptime methodology? A lot of reported numbers are not measured the same way.

Happy to. We log at the inverter, so it counts any outage over two minutes.
