Do not pay anyone to help you apply. There is no agent with a relationship that gets you in, and the ones who claim there is are selling you something that does not exist.

Check whether you apply to the university or to the funder. Getting this backwards is the single most common mistake, and for many scholarships you need an admission offer before the scholarship is even considered.

If there is a word limit, use most of it. Coming in at half the limit reads as not having much to say, whether or not that is true.
