A cover letter structure that works for this sector
Four paragraphs. One: the specific thing of theirs you have read and what you thought. Two: the closest thing you have done. Three: the gap, named honestly, and how you are closing it. Four: one sentence asking for the conversation.
Paragraph three is the one people leave out and it is the one that makes the rest believable.
